Ingredients
1 mug basmati rice
1 brown onion (quartered)
3 garlic cloves
15g fresh root ginger
1 green pepper (chopped)
1 red chilli (finely chopped, to serve)
250g beef mince
1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp Chinese rice wine
40g hoisin sauce
1 tsp black pepper
Preparation
Cook the rice
Add 1 mug of basmati rice to 2 mugs of water in a pan.
Bring to the boil, then reduce to a simmer and cook until fluffy.
Prepare the beef mixture
While the rice is cooking:
Add garlic cloves and ginger.
Add onion Diced.
Cook for 5 minutes at 120°C.
Add the beef mince and cook for 5 minutes at 120°C.
Add black pepper and chopped green pepper. Cook for 2 minutes at 120°C.
Stir in soy sauce, sesame oil, Chinese rice wine, and hoisin sauce. Cook for 3 minutes at 120°C.
Serve
Spoon the beef mixture over the rice.
Top with finely chopped red chilli.
Notes & Tips
Leave chilli seeds in for extra heat.
Swap beef mince for chicken or pork mince.
Great with a side of steamed pakchoi or tenderstem broccoli.
